Zimbabwean footballer, Tendai Ndoro loses all ‘assets’ to SA wife after divorce

Published

A Zimbabwean footballer, Tendai Ndoro has been thrown into tears and regrets after losing all his assets to his South African wife, Thando Maseko, who also kicked him out of his home after a nasty divorce.

Ndoro, a former striker of South Africa top club, Orlando Pirates, had reportedly registered all his properties in his wife’s name, including his exotic cars, jewellery and his luxury home but learned the hard way after she divorced him, and he lost everything he laboured to her.

According to media reports in the country, Ndoro and Maseko were known to live together in a luxurious home in the Kyalami Estates in Johannesburg.

The reports note that Kyalami Estates is a secure residential estate with 24-hour controlled access, recreational parks, a dam, tennis, basketball, netball and squash courts, outdoor gyms, a soccer field, among other amenities.

“But following a massive fallout between the two, Maseko is said to have thrown Ndoro out of the couple’s home in the upscale Kyalami Estates in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is also reported to have taken full possession of all of the couple’s vehicles, as they were registered in her name,” the media reported.

“It appears Ndoro’s property in South Africa is not registered in his name, so when things were not going well with his wife, he was kicked out of their Kyalami Estate home. The biggest mistake he made was not registering the house and cars in his name, and that will be his downfall.

“Ndoro’s family in Bulawayo are distraught about the situation because it can’t be easy to watch their son lose everything he worked hard for in South Africa and Saudi Arabia to his estranged wife.

“Ndoro has been making headlines of late after images leaked online in which the footballer appeared to have lost a lot of weight. The photos suggested that Ndoro may be struggling with his health,” an online publication, Soccer24 wrote in a special feature on Saturday.

“Following the circulation of the images and reports of Ndoro’s ill-health, a prominent South African businessman and former Mpumalanga Black Aces owner, George Morfou, offer to help the footballer. George and his brother Mario were responsible for introducing the 36-year-old striker to the SA Premier Soccer League (PSL) when they signed him from Zimbabwean football club Chicken Inn in 2013.”

However, Ndoro has denied reports that he was struggling financially, insisting that he was only in Zimbabwe briefly to visit his mother and that he would soon be returning to his family in South Africa.

“I don’t want to speak to the media. I’m in Bulawayo. I came back from South Africa to visit my mother. I’m actually in Bulawayo, and I will be going back to South Africa soon. My family is in South Africa, and why should I stay long in Zimbabwe,” claimed Ndoro.

But close friends have insisted that Ndoro is struggling and has been given cash bailouts by his close football associates.

“The good Samaritans who came to Ndoro’s rescue include Aston Villa midfielder Marvellous Nakamba and Supersport midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi,” a close friend said.

“Just last week, when the Warriors were in camp, several players that include Marvelous Nakamba and Kudakwashe Mahachi pampered Ndoro with cash. The players openly expressed their concern about Ndoro’s plight hence the gesture of giving him cash,” the friend added.

Tears as slain Ugandan Olympian is laid to rest with full military honours

There were uncontrollable tears and wailing as thousands of mourners turned out in eastern Uganda for the funeral of Olympic marathon runner Rebecca Cheptegei, who was set ablaze by her former boyfriend and later died.

At the solemn burial ceremony conducted on Saturday, Cheptegei was buried with full military honours with representatives the government and different arms of the country’s military formations in attendance.

Cheptegei who had participated in the road race at the Paris Olympic Games in July, was attacked by her ex-partner,
Dickson Ndiema, who doused her with petrol and set her ablaze.

She was to die four days later after the fire had consumed over 75 percent of her body. Ndiema himself who also suffered burns in the fire, died a few days later.

Local media reported that Ndiema allegedly attacked Cheptegei as she returned from church with her two daughters and younger sister in the village of Kinyoro, following a disagreement over a piece of land that belonged to her.

Cheptegei’s sporting successes include winning the 2021 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Thailand, and a year later earning first place in the Padova Marathon in Italy and setting a national record for the marathon.

Cheptegei’s tragic death has sparked anger over the high levels of violence against women in Kenya, particularly in the athletics community, with the marathoner becoming the third elite runner to allegedly die at the hands of a romantic partner since 2021.

Her father Joseph Cheptegei told journalists that his daughter had approached police at least three times to file complaints against Ndiema, most recently on August 30, two days before the deadly attack.

South African World Cup winner bags three-year ban for doping

South African Rugby World Cup 2019 winner, Sibusiso Nkosi, has been slammed with a three-year ban by World Rugby after testing positive for an anabolic steroid.

His local club, Cheetahs, which made the announcement in a statement, said Nkosi’s urine sample showed traces of an anabolic steroid used by body builders and the suspension will run until July 15, 2027.

“Sbu had a World Rugby test in May and his A sample was positive. He has been banned for three years,” the club said.

Local media reports that the 28-year-old Nkosi, who understudied Cheslin Kolbe at the World Cup in Japan, is the second 2019 champion to be banned for doping with the other before fly-half Elton Jantjies who was suspended for four years last January for using a banned substance.

“Nkosi made the first of 16 international appearances in 2018 against England and won his last cap against New Zealand three years later. He scored nine Test tries,” a local sports paper said.

“He suffered mental health challenges while playing for the Bulls and disappeared for several weeks in 2022, triggering a police search, before being found at the home of a relative.

“After stints with the Sharks and Bulls, Nkosi joined the Bloemfontein-based Cheetahs last March on a one-year contract.”
