Video: President Tinubu courts foreign investors amid recent exits

In this video, Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, insists that the country is ready and open for foreign investment following the recent exodus of foreign-owned firms in Nigeria over a variety of issues, including high operating costs, foreign exchange remittance issues, and insecurity, among others.

Some of the exited firms are Equinor, a major global player in the upstream oil sector, and Procter & Gamble, a major global player in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, or FMCG, segment.  GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc, a company that developed and manufactured innovative pharmaceutical medicines, vaccines, and consumer healthcare products, also recently shut down its operations in Nigeria.

In this video, the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, reacts in commemoration of the day for South-south cooperation in global relations.

He stressed that only through cooperation could developing countries, a category to which many African countries belong, secure multilateral support and realize shared prosperity.

The cooperation refers to an exchange of expertise between governments, organizations and individuals in developing nations. Through this model, the developing countries help and support each other with knowledge, technical assistance, and/or investments.

Video: Nigeria’s Dangote boasts ‘environment is cleaner’ with his petrol

In this video, Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group and owner of a 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery, presented the first sample of locally-produced petrol to the public after over two decades since local refining of crude products by government-owned refineries last happened, leaving the country with no option than importation of refined crude.

He explained why the first product sample from his refinery was clearer than the ones already in use.

“We Nigerians must celebrate right now that the environment will be cleaner, also people having issues with their health, especially in industries people having issues with their vehicles will now have the real product”
