A ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, Nigeria, Abbas Balarabe, fainted on Monday during his screening before the Senate.

Balarabe passed out while a senator from his state was applauding him shortly after he had just finished his presentation to the lawmakers.

Senate President GodsWill Akpabio could be heard in the video calling for “water and sugar”, before calling for a closed-door session.

Balarabe is among the three additional ministerial nominees nominated by President Bola Tinubu. The others are Dr Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively.
