Nigerian music star, Mr Eazi’s online gaming franchise, betPawa, has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Ghanaian Premier League worth $6 million.
The headline sponsorship deal was announced on Wednesday by the Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) in Accra ahead of the resumption of the 2022/23 league on September 2.
The GFA President, Kurt Okraku, who announced the signing of the deal, said the partnership will primarily focus on “marketing and positioning the elite league to become one of the most successful and attractive on the continent.
“For the country to be able to compete fiercely and on equal footing with other talents around the globe, there is the need for companies like betPawa and corporate Ghana to contribute to complement the effort of the government,” Okraku said.
On his part, the Nigerian star said his “company’s high appetite for growing and harnessing talents, creating opportunities, and rewarding fans across its markets” informed the partnership with the Ghanaian league.
Mr Eazi who is one successful African artiste who boasts of an incredible investment portfolio that includes the emPawa Africa incubator programme and a venture firm, Zagadat CapitalIn.
In June this year, betPawa sealed a deal with MTN Rwanda’s fintech subsidiary, Mobile Money Rwanda, to offer customers a range of payment methods.
