Despite warnings by South Africa’s presidency and the arrest of 87 people in connection to a planned protest by the opposition party,  the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party, the party supporters trooped out in thousands in a demonstration on Monday.

The EFF called for a national shutdown to protest crippling power cuts and demand the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The devastating effect of Tropical Storm Freddy, has continued to hit the Southern hemisphere as the storm has killed 200 people in Malawi.

This video report obtained from news agency, Reuters shows some members of the public searching for the deceased and burying relatives. Malawian President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, has declared 14 days of national mourning.
