Nigerian music stars, Burna Boy, Asake and Davido, as well as South African starlet, Tyla, have been included in former American President, Barack Obama’s favourite music of 2023 list.
In his now annual favourite music list, Obama also listed four Nigerian songs, including “Unavailable” by Davido featuring Musa Keys, “Amapiano” by Asake featuring Olamide, “Me & U” by Tems, and “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” by Burna Boy featuring 21 Savage.
Obama also listed Tyla’s “Water” on the list of his favourite songs for the year 2023 alongside songs by other international music stars.
The list, which was released on Friday, featured music from around the world, including Latino, pop, Afrobeats, Hip-hop, Grime, Reggaeton, Reggae, Dancehall, R&B, and Soul.
The former US President, who shared his list on his X handle, wrote:
“Here are some of my favourite songs from this year. Let me know if there are any artists or songs I should check out.
“Other refined choices include Victoria Monet’s “On My Mama,” Tems’ “Me & U,” Yng Lvcas and Peso Pluma’s “La Bebe” (Remix), Asake and Olamide’s “Amapiano,” Mitski’s “My Love Mine All Mine,” Blondshell’s “Joiner,” and Dave and Central Cee’s “Sprinter””.
