Nigerian superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set for a seven-city tour after taking a break to heal from the tragic death of his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi, who drowned inside his father’s swimming pool.
Davido’s management, Independent Media, made the announcement on Thursday that he would embark on a seven-city European tour from September 13, with a show at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse Arena.
According to the itinerary released by his team, the multi-platinum-selling Afrobeats star has another headline concert at the O2 Arena in London on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
“On Friday, September 15, Davido will be in Berlin, Germany at Colombianhalle; on Sunday, September 17 he will perform at Electric Halle in Dusseldorf, Germany.
“On Wednesday, September 21, he will perform in Copenhagen, Denmark at Forum Black Box; Saturday, September 23, Davido will perform in Stockholm, Sweden at Banakompainet and Wednesday and on January 31, 2024, he is scheduled for a performance in Paris, France at Accor Arena,” the release said.
The Afrobeats star, who released his fourth studio album titled, “Timeless” in April, has seen his rating skyrocket with the album breaking records on streaming platforms like Audiomack, Spotify, Apple Music and Boomplay.
The album has also gone on to top music charts across the world and is still making waves in countries including Ghana, France, Bahrain, Ireland, Turkey, the UAE and England where he catapulted to his first-ever Top 10 position on the UK charts.
Currently, “Timeless” holds the title of being the biggest African album in Apple Music history and has dominated the Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 with a groundbreaking nine simultaneous African songs, and reached the No.2 position on Apple Music’s US Albums chart, making it the highest-charting African album to date.
