Two startups from Kenya and one from Nigeria are among eight ventures selected to take part in the sixth cohort of the CV Labs accelerator programme with up to $135,000 in capital up for grabs.
Other benefits from the programme, according to the organizers, include access to other capital avenues, one-on-one mentorship, and customised growth hacks.
The sixth batch of the CV Labs accelerator will see the eight ventures working across traditional industries and web3 infrastructure.
“The CV Labs accelerator is not aligned to any one blockchain, while 10 leading protocols lend expert advisory to participants,” Bastian Wetzel, head of acceleration at CV VC AG, said in a statement on its website.
“The CV Labs is the ecosystem business pillar of CV VC the Switzerland-headquartered global blockchain investor.
“With locations in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, South Africa, Germany, and Portugal, CV Labs nurtures a global ecosystem through various activities, including acceleration programmes, community-centric co-working spaces, industry events and summits, and advisory and research reports.
“Two of the selected companies from Africa are Kenya’s Shamba Records, which offers a real-time data collection tool to unleash credit access to farmers and a farmer’s wallet, facilitating seamless credit processing and payments.
“Nigeria’s Jamit, a decentralised podcast hosting platform, offering cloud storage, global reach, engagement rewards, and unique NFT experiences for creators and listeners, is another of the selected ventures.
“Other selected companies hail from the United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, Poland, and Germany.
“Our accelerator provides optimal conditions for growth. We provide the accepted projects access to a network of industry-leading mentors and investors.
“Bespoke support, geared toward each specific startup, and assistance with everything from entity structuring to product roadmap construction,” said Wetzel.
