The Black Galaxies of Ghana on Thursday, banished the ghost of a shock loss to Madagascar in their opening group C match at the ongoing CHAN tournament in Algeria by beating Sudan 3-1 to effectively seal a second round ticket.
In the match played in Constantine, the Ghanaian team had to come from behind to demolish Sudan despite having its talisman, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, sent off in the game.
Despite conceding first, the West Africana responded through Hearts of Oak defender, Konadu Yiadom, befor Barnieh and Suraj Seidu put the icing in the cake in the second half.
Sudan had got off to a great start and on the half hour mark, broke the deadlock through Al Gozoli Hussein Nooh Mohammed.
But Ghana turned the style shortly before half time when Yiadom slotted home from a corner kick, which was first met by the head of Kofi Kordzi.
After the break, Ghana look more imposing and on the hour mark were awarded a penalty after a second look by the VAR. Afriyie Barnieh sent the Sudanese goalkeeper the wrong way.
Seidu then took the game beyond the Sudanese with the third goal when he smashed home from inside the box to seal victory for Ghana..
