Nigerian music star, Temilade Openiyi, who is popularly known as Tems, has hit another milestone when she got credited as a songwriter on Beyonce’s forthcoming ‘Renaissance’ album.
Tems who also becomes the first African artiste, male or female, to debut at number 1 on Billboard Hot 100, got the credit on Wednesday when the multiple Grammy-award winning US artiste shared the tracklist for her seventh studio album.
In the list of songs, the ‘Crazy Things’ singer was credited to have been part of the group of songwriters who wrote the tenth track titled ‘Move’.
The Beyonce management team also put up a picture displaying the comprehensive list of songwriters of the soon-to-be-released project started circulating on social media who include Richard Isong, Ariowa Irosogie, Denisia ‘Blu June’ Andrews, Brittany ‘@Chi_Coney’ Coney, Ronald Banful, and Beyonce herself.
‘Renaissance’ which is a 16 track album is scheduled for release on July 29 and the credit for Tems is another feather to her cap after she has established herself as a prominent feature in the Nigerian music industry, bagging numerous awards and nominations since announcing herself on the scene less than five years ago.
Last month, Tems won the ‘Best International Act’ category at the 2022 BET Awards after she made waves and gained international prominence for her role in Wizkid’s ‘Essence’, which also featured Justin Bieber, before collaborating on songs with international stars, Future and Drake.
