Universities in South Africa, the country with the most Covid-19 cases and casualties in Africa with over 3.5 million confirmed cases have announced that unvaccinated students and staff can only access online learning.
The policy marked the commencement of the “soft mandates” which requires students to provide proof of vaccination to access the campus.
The director of Legal Services at the University of Western Cape, Shervaan Rajie, explained the new policy.
